You know it’s election year when you hear, “the system needs to be fixed.” But it’s not broken for the political elite, who make money off this campaign slogan year-round. The solution to government problems is not more government. We need less government and more local control all the way down to the parental level. As a full-time machinist and welder, I know how hard it can be to put food on the table and how government decisions made in a far off, isolated town can have resounding impacts on my family’s, and yours, success.
One of the few responsibilities of government is to protect and defend its citizens. Living in a Muldoon neighborhood, I’ve witnessed firsthand how the violent crime and homelessness in our district has affected my neighbors. Funding local police efforts while supporting mental health resources must be a priority.

I’ve never run for office but I’m tired of empty promises and hired guns for special interests benefiting from their short-term decisions. For decades the PFD was a great way to keep a check on endless, unsustainable government growth and spending. As the statutes have been discarded year after year since 2015, we haven’t seen them develop the ability to live within their means, instead, they take what is yours. The State must pay in full what is owed to you and do so without implementing an income or sales tax just to take it back from you.
We have a right to self-defense and personal security. While police do their best to protect us, they are often not around to prevent crimes. As a father of two daughters, I recognize that possessing a firearm is the great equalizer and gives my family a fighting chance. Alaska is already a Second Amendment sanctuary state, and we must keep it that way. I am opposed to Civilian Disarmament. This is often referred to as "common sense gun control, and it is another bait and switch tactic to disarm Americans. We don’t need more laws on the books that only affect law abiding gun owners.
